Language is the common denominator.

About Me

Copywriting and editing for brands, agencies, and people. Language is always the common denominator.

Jacqueline Judge.
Well-versed dabbler. Well-dabbled verser.

A little about me:

I spent my formative years in Sunbury, PA, which left me with a taste for well-built Amish furniture and Dutch pies. I studied Sociology and Anthropology at Berkeley, which left me with absolutely no desire to be a sociologist or anthropologist. Today, I write marketing copy for various, well-known companies, like Cocofloss and Mountain Hardwear; smaller companies like Arcade Belts, and Tonal; and several creative agencies.

Affectionately called Jackiepedia by those who know me, I have an exhaustive memory for all things knowledge, from the arcane to the ephemeral. I am known to those around me for my speed in delivery, both written and repartee. Like a chameleon, I go from dry and deadpan to colorful and sprightly. I adapt to any voice and every sliver of personality until it becomes my own, spinning tales that capture your innermost thoughts and reveal them in the most vivid and lifelike way possible. I’m funny, embarrassingly nice, easygoing, and patient, and I only offer an opinion at the eleventh hour when the alternative is downright wrong. If I was a Tinder profile for writing, you’d swipe right.

My creative approach—no matter the medium—is to find points of tension behind the idea I’ve been assigned or am interested in. I do several iterations on each point and usually end up refining the one I find most controversial.

For me, controversy isn’t about instigation, but rather, a way to arrest your audience. It’s a way to plant a little bit of desire in their hearts; a yearning to turn the page and learn more about your idea. Ultimately, it’s about creating memorable stories.

I am not merely a storyteller. I am a raconteur.
